Eleuthera: Day 2

Let’s talk about Day 2…

When was the last time you sat in silence and watched the sun rise. For some reason, even though I was on vacation I still woke up super early. Since I was up, I “played” on IG for a little bit, and sat outside on our porch; It was such a calming experience.

Once Keishawn got up, we ate breakfast and stalled down to one of the two beaches at the resort. We also made a pit stop at the Sand Bar that sat on top of a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The bar was closed but, it was the perfect opportunity for a photo!

Then it was time to get out and explore. We took a short ferry ride to Harbor Island, and had lunch at Queen Conch. Great drinks and amazing local cuisine.

If I had a 10 dollars for every time I said, “I wish we would have known that.” we could have paid for a golf cart for the day…which we NEEDED. There was a lot of walking and it was HOT. At this point the hat went from accessory to necessity!

Travel tip: No matter where you go, always call ahead to find out what you will need cash for and approximately how much. A lot of our walking around was due to trying to locate a bank to get a cash advance.

Nonetheless, I was on a mission. The main reason for taking the ferry to Harbor Islands was to visit the Pink Sands Beach. Pictures do it no justice and the sun barely allows you to see it, but it was amazing to see such pretty sand!

The sand in this area is pink as a result of thousands of broken coral pieces and the shells of little marine critters that live in the surrounding coral reefs.

We had such a blast. We changed clothes in an alley way which had public beach access lol thank God no one saw us! But i’m grateful for moments like that with my husband. It was all done for the experience and a photo!
